What is an up and down bet?
The basic structure of a simple up and down bet is as detailed in an any to come bet. In a standard any to come bet if there is a return from selection 1 another bet is placed on selection 2 from that return. In up and down bets, generally, two selections are chosen and two any to come bets are placed, 1=>2 and 2=>1, so if either selection wins there is a further bet placed on the other. The bet stakes are specified by the type of bet placed, see below.

Single Stakes About
The most basic example of an if cash bet, in a single stakes about bet (SSA) two selections are chosen and two single bets placed on each. If one selection wins then a second bet equal to the original stake is placed on the other. If both original selections win then a second bet to the same stake is placed on both selections. Two winners will result in a greater return, only one winner will result in a reduced return, two losers will result in no return!
Double Stakes About
The structure of a double stakes about bet (DSA) is exactly as a single stakes about bet above, the only difference is that should one selection win then a bet equal to DOUBLE the original stake is placed on the other. In the event of a selection winning at odds on (less than evens) then there will be insufficient funds for the second bet and the whole return will be used.
